Tejano Statue Public Service Announcement
The desire to seek and discover brought early explorers to the Americas. The Spanish explorer took routes from the tip of South America and from the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Explorers like José de Escandón brought a proud and courageous breed of pioneers and took on the task of settling the great state of Texas. The time has come to commemorate the struggle, the heritage of pride we hold dear, of being a Tejano. The Hispanic leadership in Texas has helped pass a resolution that a Tejano monument be erected on the grounds of the Capitol. This monument will honor the original Spanish and Mexican explorers of Texas. It will show pride of Tejano contributions in all aspects of Texas life and it will serve to inspire future generations to seek and explore new horizons. The Tejano Monument is a reality but like everything else, it takes an economic foundation to make it happen. We need your support. Log on to tejanos.com. The Tejano Monument of Texas. A Capitol grounds legacy sculpture for future generations of all Texans.
